Coming soon – with your help –
it’s the New Roger Williams Park Zoo!

Dating back to an animal exhibit that opened in Roger Williams Park in 1872, our Zoo is one of the oldest in the country. It’s been over 30 years since the opening of the cornerstone polar bear exhibit and since the Zoo began garnering national attention.  We’re proud of our achievements in educating kids and families for all these years.

And now, there’s a whole lot happening and planned for the Zoo to assure it lives up to its reputation for many, many years to come. Almost every area of the Zoo is being affected by the Master Plan and the changes are and will be momentous – all aimed at enhancing the visitor’s experience and understanding of the natural world (especially children!).
